Believe it or not, 2022 is two decades since its release 8 miles, a film that follows the journey of an aspiring Detroit rapper named Jimmy “B-Rabbit” Smith. The film was loosely based on the real-life story of Eminem, whose birth name is Marshall Mathers. Eminem starred in and won Best Original Song at the 2003 Academy Awards for “Lose Yourself,” the title track of 8 miles soundtrack.
