A Russian documentary claims Moscow organized mass adoptions from Ukraine

Prominent Russian bloggers have begun circulating a multi-part documentary series featuring images of several Ukrainian children who have been adopted into Russian families, according to the US Office of War Research.

The scale is massive – the documentary claims that more than 150,000 children from the Donbas alone have been “moved” this year. In the past, Russian officials have publicly acknowledged that a large-scale adoption scheme is underway.

The child rights representative in Moscow, Maria Lvova-Belova, had previously adopted a child from Ukraine. There are concerns that these adoptions are forced and part of a wider campaign of ethnic cleansing.
