Gray Sloan Memorial Hospital just won’t be the same without Meredith Grey.

On Thursday, Grey’s Anatomy Star Ellen Pompeo said her goodbyes on Instagram, sharing a heartfelt message thanking the show’s loyal fans for their support over 19 seasons.

Pompeo’s comment to fans comes just one week after the drama’s fall finale, which marked the actor’s last public appearance as Grey, an intern turned chief of general surgery.

“I am eternally grateful and humbled by the love and support you have shown me, Meredith GRAY and the show for 19 seasons!,” Pompeo, 53, wrote.

Pompeo said made by Grey’s Anatomy would never have been possible without “the best fans in the world.”

“I love you madly and thank you right away,” she wrote to fans. “This isn’t your first time on the roller coaster… you know the show must go on.”

Pompeo hinted that viewers might even see Meredith Gray again in the future. She said she would “definitely come back to visit” Grey’s Anatomy hospital.

News of Pompeo’s departure from the TV show was announced in August. She reportedly left the production to pursue other opportunities, including Hulu’s limited series adaptation of the 2009 psychological thriller. An orphan.

Each Grey’s Anatomy character has been positioned for a possible return guest appearance in the future. In the fall finale, Gray left Seattle for Boston, where she took a new job researching Alzheimer’s disease.

“What a wild ride the last 19 seasons have been,” Rhimes, 52, wrote. “None of this would have been possible without the incomparable @ellenpompeo, the one and only Meredith Grey.

“It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later!” Rhimes confirmed.

On social media, Pompeo’s post has sparked a wave of outrage among Grey’s Anatomy fans. Many viewers reminisced about the show’s childhood and questioned how the drama would continue without Pompeo.
