Manchester mental health trust is said to be making significant improvements

An NHS mental health trust in Manchester has been told it must make significant improvements, after Health Inspectorate England found deteriorating leadership at the trust was having a detrimental effect on patient care.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out unannounced inspections of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust in June after receiving reports of concerns about the safety and quality of care provided. The audits focused on emergency departments for working-age adults, as well as psychiatric wards, forensic and security wards, mental health services and health-related security centres.
